I am grateful to the Ramsey Junior Women's League for naming me the
2026 Business Leader Icon.
The following is my interview with Ramsey Neighbors magazine.

Q1 The Origin Story
Take us back to the beginning — what inspired you to plant your professional roots right here in Ramsey, and how has this community shaped the trajectory of your business?
When I decided to leave my Professional Services VP position in Technology I had very specific goals as to how I was going to evolve as an entrepreneur. My business needed to help people & business owners excel, it needed to be relatively recession proof, and give me a quality of life where I could balance raising my children, and participate in the community while driving business growth.
Without a doubt I knew that my business roots needed to be planted in the same place as my home, Ramsey! From the very beginning, I communicated with neighbors and friends… and through my business, I made more friends and met other business owners who have fostered my business growth. The exponential growth game from a solid home town foundation.
Q2 Defining 'Success' Locally
For many entrepreneurs, success is measured in revenue or recognition. How do you personally define success as a businesswoman in a tight-knit community like Ramsey, where your neighbors are also your customers?
Results are so much more than financial indicators. When a client has clarity of their business and understands that financial success is driven by operational excellence, smart decisions and meaningful actions, my goal is achieved! Business planning is always occurring whether we realize it or not… watching clients embrace change is the ultimate reward!
Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable when consulting with other business owners…. Working closely with friends and neighbors magnifies the importance of making recommendations based on accurate financials, industry standards and yes your gut, knowing what’s ultimately important for each client.
Q3 Giving Back Through Business
Can you share a specific moment when your business became a vehicle for something larger — a cause, a need in the community, or a neighbor in need — that you are especially proud of?
At a recent networking event, the past Ramsey Chamber of Commerce president handed me a sticky note that I wrote to him over 10-years ago… The note read, “. Hi Paul, I’m looking forward to joining the Chamber of Commerce and becoming an active member”. It was attached to the first version of my business card.
Before I knew it I was on the Board of Directors and then became President of the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce for 7-years.
We revamped how we communicated, managed financial records and collaborated on shared data and files.
We worked closely with Mayor Dillon and NJ State to communicate and manage the turbulent 2020 pandemic waters for our business community.
We developed new B2B and B2C networking business opportunities.
We enhanced existing Ramsey family events by bringing the business owners closer to the community.
Often entrepreneurs feel isolated. The Ramsey Chamber of Commerce helps bring business owners together to share experiences, draw on each other's strengths and work together though operating separate businesses. I am proud of our growth as an organization and the traction we have gained in “Connecting Commerce and Community”.
Q4 Navigating Challenges
Every business journey has defining moments of adversity. What is one challenge you faced that ultimately made you a stronger businesswoman and community member, and what did it teach you?
In all our careers we have had moments where we needed to pivot, and for some of us more times than once. For me one of the most challenging times was working through the 2020 pandemic. Not only was I navigating my own business survival, and bringing my children home from NYC colleges, I was also navigating the crisis for my clients across various industries. As well, I was guiding the Ramsey business community with the Chamber of Commerce by communicating grant opportunities and offering operational alternatives for business evolution.
My strength was drawn from my ability to analyze situations as well as make efficient and quick decisions based on research. I learned that trusting my instincts, staying calm, and developing fast, meaningful business plans that were implemented in small manageable pieces was how we needed to operate in a landscape that continued to change at every turn. In many ways, when I work with a troubled client today, I find the best way to manage change is by taking smaller steps, rather than making large harsh decisions.
Q5 The Nomination
When you learned you were being honored as Businesswoman of the Year by the Junior Women's Club of Ramsey, what was your first reaction?
No, No, No, No…. No, this is not necessary, I do what I do, it's who I am, it's part of me, and always has been. I'm not one for all this attention!
Then….. I took a deep breath and realized I do have a story to tell and this format gives me a platform to continue mentoring professionals by sharing volunteering and business growth examples that I hope resonate with anyone who's reading and listening.
I am proud of my accomplishments and grateful to the Ramsey Juniors for selecting me… Thank you!
Q6 Mentorship & Legacy
What advice would you offer to the next generation of young women in Ramsey who dream of building something meaningful here — both professionally and in service to this community?
For any entrepreneur or business leader, Define Your Vision, Develop a Plan, Do the Work. Those specifically focused in the management consulting, service and accounting industries, stay current, follow the trends, do the research, listen to clients and create achievable solutions!
When choosing your volunteer mission, stay focused on the results you want to achieve and the impact it will generate. . Always focus on the future and leave your mark in everything you do!
Q7 Your Ramsey
If you had to describe what Ramsey means to you — not just as a place to do business, but as a home and a community — what would you say?
Ramsey is exactly where I dreamed I would be. In my corporate career, I had a traveling consulting assignment that was in Ramsey, on Franklin Turnpike in the early 1990’s. I remember thinking wow, this is just beautiful….. Then when looking to find my first home, I was re-introduced to Ramsey as a place to call home, it was a huge coinsinedce…. In the past 33 years, there have been points in my life where I could have gone back to Long Island or relocated to other places, I’m still here!
I have experienced a community filled with good intentions and a place where everyone looks out for their children, neighbors and community. I have been involved in many organizations where the goals are to support each other as well as the cause. I am proud to say that Ramsey is the place I have built my life and plan to continue my journey!
